If you are considering running for an elected position in the FFA organization, you should be prepared with answers to many common questions.  This list, although not complete by any means, might help you to begin knowing what questions might be asked.  Feel free to print and use, but also continuously look here for any Texas FFA and here for any Area I FFA Association updates for the officer election process.  The list below comes from a combination of Areas I, II and IV.

Officer Candidate Examples of "Thought Questions":

1.  What is the most important thing an individual FFA member can do to promote the FFA in their school and community?

2.  What would you tell an eighth grader, who is a prospective AgSc student and FFA member, about Agriculture Science and the FFA to encourage them to enroll and become a member?

3.  You are exhibiting an animal project at a livestock show and you are confronted by a very vocal animal rights advocate.  The person is protesting the use of meat for food purposes.  How would you respond to this individual?

4.  When asked by a member of the news media about the different career opportunities in Agriculture Science, what would be your response?

5.  Explain the different opportunities for FFA members to receive awards and recognition through their involvement in the FFA.

6.  How would you explain the various scholarship opportunities available to FFA members?

7.  A fellow student in your AgSc class has decided to not pay his/her dues.  What would you tell that individual to encourage them to change their mind?
